Comment entretenir un parquet semi-massif ?

Maintaining a solid parquet floor, the important points to remember.

The first point is to know if your solid parquet is oiled, waxed or vitrified.

1. Solid oiled parquet

Parquet oil deeply protects your wooden floors. Oiled floors require maintenance 2 to 3 times a year by reapplying maintenance oil to all of your wooden floors. For more regular maintenance, soaps for oiled parquet are recommended for a longer hold.

2. Waxed solid parquet

Regular maintenance with a vacuum cleaner or a microfiber broom is enough to maintain a waxed floor. In case of stain soak up excess stain. Then pass a few drops of linseed oil with a cloth that you will let impregnate. Finish by brushing your floor with a little white wax to which you have mixed a few drops of linseed oil. However, waxed parquet is quite fragile, stains on contact with water and can be very slippery. To remove stubborn stains or water, you must sand, dust and let dry, then reapply a coat of wax. To apply it, you need to start in a corner of the room and work your way out. After application and drying, you can buff the floor.

3. Vitrified parquet

The maintenance of vitrified floors is much simpler than the other two means of protection. You must first wash your floors with a special soap for varnished or vitrified parquet. For maintenance, the protection is supposed to last several years without special maintenance. If you notice that your floor is losing its shine, there are polishes to revive the color and remove micro-scratches on your vitrified wooden floors.
